Come; let us walk

10 Apr

-Numbers 10:30-

-He answered, “No, I will not go; I am going back to my own land and my own people.”-

After all the bitterness of life; fleeing, running, murdered, I imagine immigrants around the world.

In this story it is the a Israelites that ask the in-laws of Moses – Hoab son of Reul the Midianite – to go with them across the desert.

He has seen God come and go in furious fires and mysterious clouds.

He does not want to go with them.

I think where we are now as a Nation of People, there is a generation who no longer want to go.

Do we travel together? You call me a bastard and a parasite, a person without vision, a Leach.

I hide my pain from you so that you do not know.

Last time I told you, you blamed my leaders, you blamed me.

You said I must be you – or go back home.

No. I will not come.
