If you seek him, he will be found by you; but it you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”-
The Old Testament is a cruel book and the book of Samuel is awash with blood.
It’s been difficult reading. The death of Sauls descendants to appease the Gibeonites is particularly distressing. (1 Samuel 21)
God seems always to be bargaining with humans, favoring some and not others, demanding Obedience, condemning generations…
Yet. Yes, I seek him. And he says he can be found.
